The woman was detained at okokomaiko police station and after some questions by the people she said she is a native of ikare town in Ekiti. She was a native of ikare. May God help us ooooo.

ASUP Call Off Their 81 Days Old Strike for One Month
After 81 days of inactivity, polytechnic students across the country are
expected to return to their classrooms as the Academic Staff Union of
Polytechnics (ASUP) suspends its strike today.
The ASUP Chairman, Dr. Chibuzor Asumogba, told Vanguard in a phone interview that the decision was made by the National Executive Committee of the Union as a result of the intervention of the Joint committee of the Senate and House of Representative on Education.
He said the union gave the government representatives one month to accede to their demands and release the white paper on the visitation panel to federal polytechnics.
The ASUP Chairman however, called on all lecturers to go back to work. “All lecturers are to resume work at their various institutions today”, He said.

Police Arrest 10 Suspected Kidnappers In Lagos
The Police Command in Lagos on Monday said it had arrested 10 persons
who allegedly kidnapped a Nigerian and a Chinese after collecting N8.5
million ransom.
The Police Commissioner in the state, Umar Manko, said this in Lagos while parading the suspects and exhibits recovered from them.
Mr Manko said two of the suspects were arrested on July 3 for alleged kidnap of Kingsley Ifeanyi and Kauang Yingjun, senior employees of ZTE Nigeria Ltd, Ikoyi, Lagos.
“After the arrest of the two suspects and their confession to the Special Ant-Robbery Squad (SARS), eight others were arrested. All the suspects confessed to have collected N8.5 million ransom.
“One of the suspects, identified as Akaniyene, an employee of ZTE, who resides at the Boys’ Quarters, where the company is located, confessed to have given information that led to the kidnap of Yingjun. He claimed he was given N700, 000 from the ransom collected. During a search at the residence of the suspects, two locally made double-barrel pistols and 18 cartridges were recovered.
“The hideout they used for keeping kidnapped victims at Epe has been identified and searched,’’ Mr Manko said.
One of the suspects identified as Taiwo, 33, claimed he was a driver responsible for hiring vehicles for ZTE Company. He said that the gang decided to kidnap the victims due to alleged maltreatment meted to Nigerians in the company.
“The way they were maltreating the black in the company was bad. They sacked an old man of about 70 years after working for about six years with them. They did not pay him any money until we protested, then, they gave him N15, 000.
“I discussed the issue with one of the suspects who told me that they have been thinking of what to do. We decided that we would kidnap the victims and beat them up.
“One of the suspects suggested that we should kidnap to get money. We agreed on the money; we collected N8.5 million and my share was N1.5 million,’’ he said.

Cleric Asks Jonathan To Sign Anti- gay Bill Into Law

Justin Mogekwu, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to sign into
law, the anti-gay bill passed by the National Assembly.
The cleric made the call, weekend in his sermon at the Cathedral, during a funeral service for mother of Director- General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, NIALS, Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, the late Mrs Angelina Azinge.
Mogekwu condemned same sex marriage, describing same as evil and a curse from hell.
He said: “Same sex marriage is a curse from hell; it is not a human right. Imagine what would have happened when your father wanted to marry your mother and said to his own father, dad, I have seen the person I want to marry and he said, ‘fine, bring the person home and let me see her.’ And then he goes to bring one Isaiah, saying,‘ dad this is my wife to be.”
The cleric described gay marriage as evil and wickedness, which must be resisted with the last drop of our blood.
He berated the US President Barrack Obama, for advocating same sex marriage, describing it as a next step to heinous sex perversion.
He warned that if not checked, the next thing will be for somebody to say: “I want to marry my dog.”
He noted that President Jonathan must not delay in signing “this wonderful bill” as passed by the National Assembly into law.
The Senate passed the Anti-Gay bill, recommending 14 years imprisonment for anybody found engaging in gay activities.
He commended the Senator representing the zone, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for doing a great job in the Senate.
The service was attended by prominent political leaders, judicial officers and dignitaries from all parts of the country, including Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Senator Chris Ngige, Dr. Joe Nwodo, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, General Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr Emeka Obegolu and omong others.
